So, I have been in my new ward now for 3 months. They just issued me a calling. Can you guess what it is? Well, they also just re-did ALL the presidencies...YW, Primary, and RS, so it wasn't any of those! They would be insane to call me to be in nursery considering I will be having a new baby in 6 weeks, so it wasn't that (thank goodness!) I had a really long stint in primary in my last ward in Lafayette, and my ward in Provo, so I can happily say it isn't in primary. While I did enjoy my brief time in Young Women's, it isn't anything in YW either. It would also be hard to juggle a nursing baby's schedule while trying to teach a lesson, so you can cross that off the list as well.
So! Any guesses yet? I guess, if you consider my personality, and my extreme interest in socializing, talking, girl's night outs, etc. you may just be on the right track! And for those of you who still haven't guessed it yet, I will fill you in! I have just been called to be the Enrichment leader in the Olathe 2nd ward. How lovely is that? I am actually a bit excited about it, and looking forward to it. While I have never had a calling like it before, I know it will be a lot of work. I am a bit nervous as well, but again, looking forward to it. I would love any ideas and suggestions as I can use all the help I can get! I know you are all jealous....

I have a new calling

Lucky for you there are only 4 enrichment nights a year now! You don't have to come up with something every month.
All I have to say is that the Service Auction enrichments we had in Lafayette have been my favorite of all time!
Service auctions are great! Lafayett was the best for good enrichments. Except for that meatloaf smorgasbord. I recommend not have a meatloaf theme.
Anyway, I really liked the frozen yogurt and yoga enrichment. And I wish I'd been there for the science fair. That sounded like fun.
Meatloaf smorgasbord? That's gross! I must have missed that one because I don't remember that Thank goodness! Will definitely NOT have meatloaf. I missed the science fair too. I heard some stuff about it. That could be a good idea to use...I will have to get more info!
I covet your calling! It's my favorite! Enjoy!
Lafayette was always having issues with the younger women planning fun activities and the older ladies complaining. The meatloaf smorgasbord was an attempt to appease them. They were sick of "Utah food" such as cheesecake. They wanted real Indiana food: meatloaf and lemonade. It is my favorite enrichment story of all time.
Someone brought a really good meatloaf made with Dijon mustard instead of ketchup.
Oh yeah, my other favorite enrichment story is when brother someone who was a gynocologist was brought in to answer questions and someone asked a couple of embarrassing sex questions. That was awesome!
Catherine, I remember that enrichment night very vividly. Hilarious! And soooo embarrassing! Poor girl...how naive. Anyway...meatloaf and lemonade do not jive with me. Now way, no how. Well, lemonade is fine, but you know what I mean!
I did like the service auction, and had my one and only experience with water aerobics thanks to you!Fun stuff!BTW...have you read that funny blog? Christy has...if she told you about it I don't know. Let me know if you want the link.Water aerobics makes me think of it.
Kerry, we'll have to coordinate and share ideas! I have the same calling in Lafayette 2nd. So I want to know about the frozen yogurt and yoga enrichment. Fill me in please! :)
