I am sitting at the table as I type this waiting for Little buddy to eat one bite of his dinner so he can get down from the table. He has been sitting here for about an hour and a half, and hasn't touched his dinner. I can't figure it out, since it is macaroni and cheese and broccoli, and he loves them both. I think the problem is that I mixed them together, so the broccoli has cheese on it, and the macaroni and cheese has broccoli on it. Are you serious? Just eat them!
O.k. T gave in and gave him a baby carrot instead, and since he did take a bite of that, he let him down from the table so they could go play toys. Good grief already! Those 2 year olds can last a long time in a battle of wills! And the bad thing is...he still didn't have to eat the dinner I made! The worst part of it is all the junk he has eaten today. He hardly ate any waffle for breakfast. And then around 10:15, he decided he needed chips. Pringles to be exact. I gave in, and let him have some. I then had to go meet T at his work, so we could go to the bank and have the paperwork notarized to overnight back to Lafayette for our house closing tomorrow. At the bank, they had popcorn. So, of course we had to have about 2 bags full of that. On top of that, he had part of a tootsie pop, and about 2 rice krispy treats. That was his lunch today. Bad mommy, terrible mommy! I really tried to redeem myself with the broccoli for dinner (and pears too, for that matter, which of course he demanded, but wouldn't eat) but that backfired terribly. I am going to put my foot down tomorrow, and not allow ANY junk food at all all day. String cheese, clementines, baby carrots for snacks. No chips!
So the weather today turned mighty frightful! It was gloomy to start, and then rained all afternoon. It was about 30 degrees on top of that, so the rain was freezing to everything. There are little tiny icicles in all the trees and bushes, and a little skiff of snow on the ground in spots. It is definitely looking like winter now! I am sooooo glad I have a garage! I won't have to scrape off my car! Yippee! I hate that!
Well, I tried a recipe that Heather suggested for Fudge using a pudding mix. It is setting in the fridge right now. I can't wait to have a taste in a few more hours! Yummy! I am also listening to Christmas music. I love Christmas music. I try to buy a new Christmas cd every year. This year I bought a really pretty one. It is called "Celtic Woman: A Christmas Celebration". I love Celtic music. It is so pretty. There are little clips so you can hear bits of each song.
I am a long blogger I decided. Once I get writing, I can't seem to stop. This is definitely a fun way to journal.
Happy Holidays!

Yummy! I hope you guys enjoy the fudge as much as our family enjoyed it.
I'm glad you mentioned your home in Lafayette! John and I have been wondering if you had sold it yet. Congratulations! It's always a relief to not be paying two mortgages. Thanks for mentioning that. I've been meaning to call and ask or write, but I hadn't gotten around to it. yet. Thanks for blogging, it helps me keep up on what's going on in your life.
Heather
You are sure welcome! Thanks for sharing the fudge recipe. It was yummy! I think I will have a piece right now as a matter of fact!
That's funny about your little guys eating habits. That sounds familiar...I have that problem too...with myself@! If I ever pass through Kansas, I'll be sure to stop by and bring some pringles for the little guy and me to share.
Sorry to comment again... but I am totally laughing about your 2-year-old and eating. I have a seriously stubborn 2 1/2 year old boy. And all those things you said sound so familiar. He basically lives on eggos and nooodles - oh and kid vitamins! So - don't worry, you aren't a bad mom. Once my daughter hit 3 or so, she did much better at eating. But I'm glad to know I'm not alone with 2-year-old eating habits. :)
