I need yummy recipes!

I love good party food. I always seem to find recipes that I want to make at my next get-together, but when it comes time for that get-together, I can't remember what I wanted to make! I am having a Stampin' Up! workshop tomorrow night at my house. I haven't done a workshop in a year! It's time to get back on the wagon. I have fun doing it, so instead of conning someone into hosting, I decided to host myself. Which means that not only do I have to prepare for all the demonstrations, but I also have to make sure my house is clean, and I have some good refreshments!

So, please! Tell me what I should make, and include the recipe as well! What is your favorite thing to eat at "get-togethers"?I will be extremely grateful! I will even send anyone who gives me a recipe a hand-stamped card! Just for me...especially made for you!" So, email me with your address! kerryjoyblack@hotmail.com

Thanks!

How about that salsa I had when you passed through town?

1 can diced tomatoes
1 can green chilies
1 can corn
1 can black beans
1 medium white onion, diced
cilantro, to taste
lime juice (1-2 small)

I've been frying my own chips (cut up corn tortillas in my deep fryer) lately and it is super yummy. That might be a little too much work for a SU gathering but you might want to do it for yourself sometime!

Oh yeah, and you can't go wrong with mini eclairs!

mini eclairs, I had forgotten all about those. I should have bought some yesterday while at sams.

I totallY thought about he pineapple dip, but changed my mind at the last minute. I have decided and this is what I am doing.

Caramel chex! (thanks for that recipe Gigi)
Black bean and corn dip (it's a yummy recipe from my friend Lark!)
raspberry lemon bars
strawberry blueberry lemonade

Thanks for the salsa recipe Christy...I will have to make that sometime soon. And I also considered the eclairs, but I wasn't sure their presence would be cherished as much without the Lafayette girls.

hmm..i read your post too late! Sounds like you are already set! I'm sure I have some yum recipes someplace i could've given you. I was going to suggest like a 7 layer taco dip with tortilla chips. I always like that, and they are fairly easy to make (or buy if you run out of time--hee hee).

Cannot wait to hear how your workshop went.

Amiee...I know what recipe I want from you. That yummy dessert with the chocolate cake, pudding, whipped cream and skor/heath bars? Wasn't it like a trifle of some sort? Yumminess.

I cannot believe you REMEMBER that! It's super easy to make. Just bake up a 13x9 pan of brownies, mix up a couple boxes of instant chocolate pudding, grab some cool whip, and crush up a bunch of heath bars. After the brownies cool, cut them up and layer them in a bowl. First brownies, then pudding, then cool whip, then heath bars..and REPEAT. Let sit in the fridge for a couple hours to get nice and cold. It doesn't last more than a day or two, so eat up quickly!

Thanks Amiee. I can't wait to try it! I better have another girl's night so I can make it. I know a few ladies who are always in the mood for chocolate!
