We are having artistic differences

So, I have mentioned that Logan really enjoys drawing lately. Tony's mom brought Logan some sidewalk chalk when they were here in September, and Logan has loved going outside to draw on the driveway. He is doing really well at it too. You all saw his most recent work...titled "Some Drawings on my Sister". Well, who thought much damage could be done with crayon? I came downstairs earlier this morning to find red and yellow scribbles all over the CARPET! What???? Crayon colors on carpet? Now this is beyond ridiculous. Logan is almost 3 1/2. He has not had issues with drawing on things before now. Why start now? I never had to worry about him when he was younger. You think they grow out of that phase, and once they reach a certain age, it just makes sense to NOT color on things other than paper. I am about to confiscate the crayons and not allow him alone with ANY writing utensil at all. Good grief! I don't even want to know what's next!

And on another note...he will be in Sunbeams in January. Is he ready? I am beginning to worry!

Kerry- Kids never cease to amaze me. I would confiscate the soloring stuff and put it up high, for a time when you are around. I am so sorry. i use to freak out because we were renting BUT now I freak out because we own and it is expensive!!! It a lose lose situation for sure! Sunbeams will LOVE him and look at the bright side, they typically color alot in class-so you may get a 'break' at your home on Sundays-ha ha. thanks for the blog response-I am now working on the link (If I can get my baby healthy!). Mary's blogspot is-otisclifford! Good luck!

I'm sorry but those pictures of Avery are so precious. So far my kids only decorate themselves with pen although Rusty does like to use sidewalk chalk on the carpet. I didnt know crayon works on carpet either. Thanks for the heads up. I hope it came out easy.

This is why pens, markers, crayons, scissors... basically anything to write, cut or glue with is contraband in our house. It only comes out when an adult is in the room watching and the kid stays at the table. With the three of them I just don't have the patience to clean up "special" artwork. Good luck teaching him to only draw on paper. You can give me tips on how to teach my boys.

I'm sorry about your little "picasso". Luckily, Savannah had only taken pencil to the walls...so far. Oh never mind, she took a sharpie to a computer screen at Grandma's house. Luckily, we were able to find a rememdy on the internet. Oh, and if you think Logan isn't ready for Primary? Jane turns three in a couple of weeks and she's going to be going into Primary!! She looks like a baby compared to the rest of the kids!!

Good luck and love ya,
Heidi

*lol* I'm only laughing, because I can so totally relate. You remember, I'm sure, when I went through my house and took away all writing utensils of all kinds. I'm sorry that happened, and no, I didn't know crayon writes on carpet either.

hey, i'm no expert, but i just saw a commercial on tv for these "crayons" that are really just pens w water in them, and when the kids 'color" on special paper with the water pen, stuff shows up. But only on the paper. Pretty cool idea! That sucks about your carpet...I have no idea what will get crayon out! Good luck! :)

Kerry- How do you reply to comments on your posts? I got yours..but am retarded. So Dan was the same way about the kitchen thing not being 'manly'.Little Tykes has a masculine colored one, and so I just did it-ecspecially when I found it on their once a year sidewalk clearence. Just tell Tony it will make logan a better hubby and missionary learning to cook and all. LOL-and YES our girls will be right there in a few months anyways-definetly a good investment. I am not a good throw up mom-hope this passes soon!
