Well, my sweet little one who wasn't so little at birth, lost quite a bit of weight before we left the hospital. She went from 8 lbs. 15 oz. to 8 lbs. 2.8 oz. I had to take her to the doctor today just to have her weighed. Amazingly enough, she was back up to 8 lbs. 10 oz! She must be getting plenty of food these days. She gained over 7 ozs. in under 2 days. Good girl!
About our first outing. I definitely need to start getting ready about an hour before we need to leave the house...at least! I guess as long as I am ready, and Logan is ready, then it is o.k. if I have to spend extra time getting Avery fed, diapered, changed, etc. And another interesting observation. I can tell the big difference between the first baby and the second. With Logan I had the diaper bag packed with every possible item that might be needed. Today I left the house with nothing. It was my mom's insight to grab a few diapers and throw them in my purse, but no wipes, or extra clothes or anything. Hmmm...slight brain loss from the wonderful pain meds I am on? Or is it truly just a second, and subsequent child thing? Wow this is fun! I have two kids. I am a real mom now!

She's so cute and has such a perfect head! Isn't it just mind boggling that she was inside you just a few days ago?
I'm the same way with 2 kids. I always forget to bring anything for Rusty. I have to leave a package of diapers and wipes in the car because I can't be bothered to carry that huge ugly diaper bag everywhere. I'm so glad you're back and blogging. It's great to hear from you. Take care.
She's SOOOOO cute! Catherine is right, what a perfect head! Thanks for posting even though you're recovering. I don't have that excuse!
I guess that is one good thing about having a c-section. The head doesn't get all funny shaped from squeezing out. And I don't have stitches down yonder, and it doesn't hurt to use the restroom. And I don't wet my pants when i laugh. What other pros can i think of?
Oh, John and I both think that's such a cute picture. So do the girls. Thomas didn't look.
I have a packed diaper bag that I just keep in the car. If I really need it I'll just go out to the car and get it. We use a backpack for a diaper bag. Then we have the essentials for all 3 kids. You know, panties, extra clothes for Alexa diapers, wipes, extra clothes for Thomas, etc. With Alexa potty training it's a big necessity to have clothes for her now.
She's soooooo cute Kerry!!
AHHHHHH, can you hear all of our sighs and see our googly eyes? She looks perfect. We're so happy for you! I love her name. So cute. We're cheering for you.
Kerry, it was great to talk to you tonight--congrats again! She is adorable! Just wondering, though: since I only have one child, am I not a "real mom" yet? :)
Here are some more pros for C-section to add to your list: next time: 1)you don't have to labor, and 2)you get to choose the day and time your baby is born. That would make it so much easier to prepare!
And yes, you will have COMPLETE control over your bladder in middle age, while many other mamas likely won't. Yikes!
But I think avoiding tears and stitches "down there" is the HUGEST pro. You can stand for as long as you want without pressure/hurting. You don't have to fear going to the bathroom! You don't have to take stool softeners, just in case! And you can do other things sooner, which I won't spell out in case you want to keep this G-rated. :o
¡Adorable! Please read that in Spanish because that's how I am thinking it in my head.
Oh...you are a real mom with one kid too. I just feel like I am moving up the ladder to having a bigger family, and dealing with more kids, hence my comment. No offense to those with only one child. Enjoy it while you can!
She's cute! My diaper bag was the same way, but mostly because I don't want to drag all that stuff around. I second your comment on feeling like a real mom with 2. I totally have felt the same. Its great. a lot crazier, but great.
